Hi!
Our names are Conner Kees and Laura Rose Gage. Welcome to the Affordable Acupuncture CDA blog! We are both acupuncturists who are passionate about two things of particular interest to anyone reading this.
- The incredible energy and spirit of the Coeur d’Alene community, and
- Making acupuncture care more accessible to those who want it

We hold Masters Degrees in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, are licensed in the state of Idaho, and are nationally board-certified through the NCCAOM. Together, we have over 7300 hours of accredited training in acupuncture and Chinese medical practice. We have over 27 years combined clinical experience. We have trained under some of the biggest names in our industry, as well as owned and operated multiple successful acupuncture practices in multiple states.
Our hearts have brought us here to CDA – and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share our gifts with this incredible community.
Allow me to share a bit about each of us, and then tell you how the model of care we are bringing to CDA sets us apart from other acupuncture practices in our area.
Laura Rose Gage is fourth-generation Idaho gal. The first part of our move to CDA was spent in the cabin on Wolf Lodge Creek Road that her great-grandparents built in the 1950s. She is a specialist in Women’s health, pregnancy/obstetrics and labor and delivery. She specialized in the Chinese medicine techniques of Japanese-style “rice grain” moxibustion and gentle needling techniques. She also has a special interest in nervous system regulation, polyvagal theory, and somatic modalities. In 2017, she co-founded the first freestanding birth center in Pullman, Washington with a midwife, ViviAnne Fischer and naturopath, Kathleen Ojeda. Laura is a practitioner of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Dr. Linda Thai’s somatic embodiment and regulation strategies, and Thea Elijah’s Whole Heart Connection methodology. She even offers Human Design consultations to curious clientele. Her passion, very much like Conner’s, is in the soul’s ability to call forth the healing power from within each individual. Her personal website can be found at LauraRoseGage.com.
Conner Kees is a “Georgia peach”, and has spent time living throughout the Southeast – including Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and North Carolina. He is a specialist in biohacking, applied biophysics, neuro-linguistic programming, and hypnosis. He also specializes in the Chinese medicine techniques of pulse diagnosis, bloodletting, and scar removal. In 2018 he acquired a successful acupuncture practice in Black Mountain, North Carolina and converted it into the first low-EMF acupuncture clinic in NC. In 2021 he co-founded a healthfood store & acupuncture practice in southern Alabama. Since then he has substantially traveled the US, including living on the Big Island and completing his first book in 2023, which can be found at ConnerKees.com. He has been featured on numerous podcast interviews, a list of which can be found by clicking here. His interviews point to the similarity of his and Laura’s philosophies around healing.
The Huandineijing (the ~2.2k year old text from which all Chinese medicine is based) says “All disease begins in the Heart” and “The superior physician treats the Spirit.” These are two sayings that are central to our practice. Ultimately, we say, that we are not the healers – you are. We are just the technicians which provide the space for you to get out of the way and let your body do what it was designed to do.
Laura and I are both extremely passionate about making acupuncture more affordable and more accessible to the public. We believe there are significant limitations to the way acupuncture is most commonly practiced in the West. The most glaring deficiency in acupuncture care in the United States and other Western countries is it’s cost. For the millions (billions?) of people to which acupuncture could benefit, the price point of private care from a licensed acupuncturist is out of reach. A visit with an acupuncturist, which usually includes a single session of acupuncture treatment, ranges from $75 to $150. The course of treatment for many conditions with acupuncture ranges from 6 to 12 treatments. This amounts to anywhere from $450 to $1,800 for meaningful improvements from any single condition.
We see this as a problem. The barrier to entry into acupuncture care is too high.
This is why we are offering the first “community acupuncture” clinic in the CDA area. A complete session of acupuncture treatment under this model is just $40. Not only that, but we also offer package deals, where the patient can save even more by purchasing their treatments in bulk. A packages of 8 treatments with us is only $279.
By reducing the barrier to entry to acupuncture care, acupuncture can become no different than any of the other healing modalities a person utilizes in their regular life. We would like receiving acupuncture to feel as simple and as commonplace as going to the gym, to the sauna, or any other self-care routine a person might have.
Sound appealing?
There will be more information about what makes our approach to acupuncture care stand out in the blogs to come. In the meantime, please follow us on social media to be notified about special news and events from your new neighbors at Affordable Acupuncture CDA.
Much love,
Conner & Laura
